First Day of "School"

Today was the kiddos first day of school. It was a long day because we had to get them up really early to be there and have time for me to talk to their teachers and unpack all their supplies and all of that and still get to work by 7:30. They seemed to have a lot of fun. I was having a hard time leaving, but it made me feel better knowing that the girls had each other and the teachers adored Everett (his shirt says "New to the Herd!") The girls were a little reserved at first (you can see that they didn't exactly appreciate the picture with a lady who was pretty much a stranger at that point) but then they made friends and their teacher brought out muffins so they knew they were in the right place! Needless to say, after a long day with only one nap for the girls (they are used to two) and a full day of playing, they are sleeping soundly and not making a peep!

A Weekend With Family

With family in town, we spent almost the whole weekend with my family. Everyone just pretty much camped out and we had so much fun. It was like a mini-reunion. Bill and Waunel brought Bailey so the cousins got to play with her. Charla also came over so we had to get our favorite thing in...playing cards. We also did some shopping. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

P.S. My favorite one is the one where Kristin knew I was taking pictures so he pretended to be helping in the kitchen!! He was not!!!

A Big Surprise!

We had a huge shock Friday night!!!! Mike and Robyn and my Grandmother came in town and we were all over at my parent's having dinner. We got handed a "riddle" to solve which turned out to be a beautiful poem with some shocking news...SELWA'S PREGNANT!! This is very new and we will be praying for her and the baby. Can't wait to meet him or her!!!

Last Week of Summer

It's been a while since I last updated my blog. We've been busy soaking up every last bit of summer we can before I have to go back to school next week. I'm going to miss being with them during the day so much! I'm glad they have a daycare that I love though, and very importantly that they love too! This week has been pretty busy and it's only Tuesday. Cindi came over yesterday and the girls had a lot of fun playing with her and reading with her. She's a literacy specialist and she thinks the girls are so smart so that must mean they are gifted, right? They will be in PACE by kindergarten I am sure. Later in the day, we loaded everyone up to go to Everett's doctor's appointment only to find out we had the wrong month...not the wrong day...the wrong month!!! You would think his 6 mo. check-up would be scheduled for the 6 month but who knew it's at 7 months. Anyways, I got a free mall trip out of the deal since Kristin had already taken off work so it all worked out:). Today Everett went to school with me to work on my classroom and the girls stayed with Granna, Grumpa and Bella. They had so much fun they didn't want to leave. I tutored tonight and we'll see what the rest of the week brings!
